A shallow, crystal-clear pond spreads across your whole desktop: water flows, light sways, fish swim by. Moving the mouse leaves fine waves behind, and a click sends ripples out in rings — one glance up, and the workday feels lighter.

A living pond, spread across your desktop
The real thing: ripples drift, goldfish and koi slip past the stones, tadpoles dart by, a little crab walks along the bottom.
The office escape hatch
It never makes a sound; it just moves, quietly. With it on, your desktop stops being a mere backdrop for work — one glance while you slack off or sit through a meeting, and your mood settles.

FAQ
Is Pond Live Wallpaper free?
Yes, it is free. No sign-up, no phone number — unzip and run.
Which systems are supported, and in which languages?
Windows 7 / 8 / 10 / 11 today, with Chinese and English builds that are identical in features. A macOS version is in the works.
Will it slow my computer down?
The water is rendered live on the GPU with a very light footprint, so even an office laptop can leave it running all day. It works fully offline — no network calls, no ads.
Will it clash with desktop icons? How do I turn it off?
No. It sits in the system wallpaper layer, so icons still show and still respond to double-click. To stop it, right-click the tray icon and pick Pause; resume any time.
From the blog
Five essays: is a live wallpaper worth it, does it cost resources, how to choose well, and why a pool of water relaxes you.
What makes it different
Ripples follow your mouse
Gliding the mouse leaves fine waves behind it, and a single click sends ripples spreading outward in rings — like actually touching the water with a fingertip.
Fish, tadpoles and a little crab
Goldfish and koi cruise through the water, tadpoles sweep past in a shoal, and a crab patrols the bottom and pauses to feed. Come closer, and they scatter.
One glance and you calm down
Soft turquoise water with slow ripples is easy on the eyes through long screen hours — the quietest corner of your desk.
Music right in the menu
The pond menu has its own player: drag the progress bar, set the volume, pick a loop mode — start a track and just sit for a while.
And a game, too
The pond menu hides a chocolate-drop block puzzle: colorful drops instead of blocks, with levels and a running score — a perfect few-minute break.
